Eric Griffith-Jones papers, Bodleian Library Mss Afr.s.1554 Christopher Twohey and Geoffrey Danby lived on a farm on the Nairobi-Thika Road and went to shoot birds. The two boys came upon a gang hiding in the bush and were surrounded and brutally murdered and robbed of all they possessed. Danby, the elder, was left naked and the younger one was clothed in vest and underpants only. Danby's air gun and shirt were taken away. Twelve accused; nine were hanged and three detained during the governor's pleasure. One of them was arrested wearing Twohey's shirt.
