Gazette 30/5/1917 - Obituary - His Excellency regrets to announce the death of Lieut. H R Hatch RNR of enteric fever at Entebbe on 17/5/1917.
Mr Hatch entered the service of the Uganda Railway on 21/9/1911 as Second Officer, Uganda Railway Marine. He was pormoted to Chief Officer with effect from 27/7/1913 and would shortly have been recommended for further promotion to Commander had he lived.
Mr Hatch was a quiet unassuming officer who was universally respected and by his death the Government suffers the loss of a loyal and efficient servant.
