Colonial Service Officer from 1908
After WW1 he built a house but left EA to return to England in 1924. He published 'Kenya Sketches' in 1935. While in Administration served in Kikuyu and then in Nandi/Kipsigis areas. After his return to England he became a master at various English Public Schools, and at one time owned his own boys' preparatory school. Blurb to his book says - the author has lived in Kenya from 1909 to 1924 as administrator, soldier and farmer, and at one time held estates of nearly 9,000 acres. His farm was remote and at times he did not see a white man for weeks.
