Bought a piece of land in Parklands on which Aga Khan Hospital now stands. There in 1912 that C.T. Studd, who was staying with Capt. & Mrs Cowie conducted the first evangelist mission in Nbi. on his way to Belgian Congo. A trained nurse on call day and night to help Africans in any way she could. Clinic to treat burns, sores & sickness of every kind. Only white woman of that time, 1913-18 to be a member of the Kiama, the Kikuyu elders' court. Survived 6 attacks of rheumatic fever. Foundation member of EAWL. Learned driving at 65
