Ancestry Family Tree:Station master in Pietermaritzburg 1912. 1928 to Kenya, for 34 years. Broke up farming partnership in Aberdare mountains and took Ellen and Maurice to Nakuru. Noel was already there in boarding school. Times were hard in this time of the Great depression. Eleanor takes two boys back to Natal to better their education. Most of Cyril's salary was sent to them in Natal. The agricultural business of G.North & Son was hit by recession. Went to Uganda as Manager of Singer Sewing Machine Co. Needed to travel throughout Uganda, Kenya, Tanganyika and Zanzibar. Whilst alone, and in Uganda, he met his future wife, Vi who was a Chartered Accountant from London who had completed a 3 year contract with a coffee auctioneering Company. Married Violet and then they embarked on what was to be about 7 years on "Safari" in the Rift Valley, Great Lakes and Nile regions of East Africa. Dealing with Native chiefs etc. With war clouds looming Cyril was transferred to Kenya. Uganda was German territory [wrong]. Cyril became a storeman. They acquired a small cottage at Karen some 11 miles out of town. 1967 • Pietermaritzburg Natal South Africa. Met Jean who was a sister at Azalea Park Home. "The Dickinson Saga" 1977 • Harare, Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe - dictates this story to his son Maurice and daughter-in-law Doryce. His saga states that he was at the Dorothy Duncan Centre for the Blind & Disabled when dictating the Foreword.
