General Information:
Richard Reeder (grandson) He was seconded from the Grenadier Guards to train BEA Police stationed at Kisumu, then joined the Kenya Police. He had two farms - one at Dundori, on the Eastern Great Rift Valley wall at 8,500 ft above sea level and the other in the Great Rift Valley at Milton’s Siding, Solai (named after her father, and still the Post Office address).

Police - In 1904 a small body of Police under Sergeant-Instructor J.H. Milton was attached to a Company of the KAR, commanded by Captain (later Lieut.-Col) E.V. Jenkins, DSO, which dealt successfully with a revolt of the Kisii in the Kisumu (later Nyanza) Province and for this the EA General Service Medal with a bar (Kisii, 1904) was also issued.
Kenya Diary - Dec. 1905 - Nandi - I found Sergeant Milton of the Grenadier Guards in charge. He has recently been sent out to assist in reorganising the Protectorate Police but is attached to the military for the expedition.
