East Africa & Rhodesia - 16/5/57 - Mr L.W. Nealon, for the past three years chairman of the local board in Mombasa of the African Mercantile Co. Ltd., has just retired. He first went to Kenya in 1912 to join the East African Trading Company, the forerunner of the African Mercantile, so that he has spent 45 years with the business. He is a past president of the Mombasa Chamber of Commerce, honorary consul for Norway in Mombasa (with jurisdiction including Kenya, Zanzibar, and the coast of Tanganyika) and he has long been a member of the committee of the Mission to Seamen.
