Old Africa 23/8 - Our family, the Morralls, lived at Smethcote Farm, Menengai, near Nakuru on a farm of 3,500 acres. My mother ran the farm on her own much of the time because my father was often away in the KAR. We had 4 children in our family and our names were: Cyrus John, Judith Essex, Susan Frances and Roger Morrall. My grandmother, who lived in Shropshire, thought my mother could do with a Nanny and recruited one. Nanny, whose name was Miss Amy Babbage, came to Kenya in 1929 from London. She had never been out of London before.
