East Africa & Rhodesia - 3/1/57 - CBE - Joseph Trevor Simpson for public services in Uganda. Went to East Africa in 1926 to join the African Mercantile Co. Ltd., transferring to the Vacuum Oil Co. of South Africa Ltd., six years later, and to the Uganda Co. Ltd. In 1946, becoming general manager in the following year. First became a non-official member of the Uganda Legislative Council in 1941. Has held many prominent posts on public bodies, including those of president of the Uganda Federation of Employees, the Uganda Chamber of Commerce, the Uganda Tea Association, and the Uganda branch of the British Empire Society for the Blind.
