North - Methodist Missions business agent at Zanzibar April 1892; dep. Zanzibar for Mombasa 4/9/1893 to take charge of the Col. H.E. Colvile caravan to Uganda, received fee of 4591 rupees; due to dep. Uganda for coast 18/1/1894; dep. Mombasa with CMS caravan for Uganda 26/7/1894; arr Fort Smith 30/8/1894; arr Mumias 24/9/1894; arr Kampala Oct 1894; at Kampala agent for Ratansi Manji & Co. 13/10/1894; dep. Kampala for coast Oct/Nov 1894;
EAS - 22/1/1903 - Mr. Geo. Muxworthy had a most alarming experience with lightning on his recent visit to Busoga; 2 of his men being killed during a storm almost at his tent door.
Uganda Journal Vol 14 No 2 p. 220 - Letter from Emin - Mr Maxworthy was Edward Muxworthy who was employed by CMS as their transport agent between the coast and Lake Victoria. He died in Uganda in 1896.
Matson - Gilkisson was sent to Mumias in Sept. 1894 to reassert the Company's taxation and trading rights in Kavirondo. Was rebuffed by Spire. After Gilkison's discomfited return to Fort Smith in November and Muxworthy's death from blackwater in Kabras in the same month, no traders were reported in E. Uganda until the arrival of Peter West at Mumias on 20 March 1895.
Ropes - Edward Muxworthy worked in Zanzibar for the British firm of Boustead, Ridley and Co. Later he was active in the East African interior as a trader and caravan leader. Muxworthy was, for a time connected with the famous caravan entrepreneur Charles Stokes. Muxworthy died in Uganda in either 1894 (Matson) or 1896 (Gray)
