Pembroke - Richard Wilson wrote a chapter of recollections of Pembroke House for the book. ' … We had a succession of governesses where we lived at Ulu and they must have been pretty good, as neither my brother Den (A.D. Wilson who arrived two years after me in January 1933) nor had I much trouble getting started at PH. Being way out in the country, there was not a great deal to do in the evenings and our parents had drawn us into chess and bridge. Returned to Kenya in 1950 after his naval service and, with his brother Denis, for 13 years, concentrated on farming and cricket. Then various official agricultural jobs and finally back to farming at Ulu. Retired to Kilifi.
