E-mail form Tom Lawrence - "Born in Great Massingham, Norfolk in 1896. She was working in the kitchens in a hospital in London treating the wounded when she met Marc in 1915 and they were married in December of that year.  her first child was born in Norfolk in June 1918 (Joan Elizabeth Lawrence known as Joan) and her second was my father born in Feb 1922 (Marcus St. John Lawrence known as John).

She was of farming stock and held both farms together as best she could. She came from a long line of vets and was extremely good with animals.  Sadly I do not know much more than that about her. After she was left she kept the farm on until 1952 when she became too ill (thyroid problems) and sold the farm. She then left to go and stay with friends in Eldama ravine (the Gunsons and the Hopkins) and died there. She was buried in Nakuru in 1954.
