General Information:

Foster - CMS Lay Missionary educationalist at Kahuhia. He first came to Kenya in 1932. Later he married Miss Ethel May (Mamie) Anderson from Scotland. They had first met at a Bible College in Glasgow. Cantrell retired from Kenya in 1950 but returned for 3 months in 1953 to "help out" during the Mau Mau Emergency because he was a fluent Kikuyu speaker. The PC Central Province wrote to CMS to say what a great help Cantrell's visit had been to increase understanding between the Church and the Government in the Fort Hall district. Cantrell died in Britain in 1974. Mrs Cantrell died in 1998 [wrong]
