1950 Ran the European Stores Malindi, 1953 Manager Leeuws Hotel, Lushoto. Source Mrs D.M.C. Townsend.  After Campbell died in the 1960s his wife Peggy ran the Highlands Hotel at Molo for some years before going to live in SA where she died in 1965.

2nd wife worked as secretary for Governor Brooke-Popham at outbreak of war.
Info from Diana Townsend (dau) James Campbell Murray b. 6.01.1894  Glasgow.  Went to Kenya in the 1920’s.  He was a coffee farmer in Makuyu  Married Kirsten ? in 1929 and had one daughter Maureen who died in 2018.  Married my mother as above and moved to Palestine and then North Africa for the duration of the war.  1945 farm manager in Kiambu then Ol Donyo Sabuk then ran Rift Valley Sports club in Nakuru and later Njoro Country Club.   1949 moved to Malindi where he ran the European general stores and later married Peggy Fawcus and had two more children  Anna 13.12.1950 and Andrew 26.12.1951. He died in Nakuru 1957
He was seconded to the KAR during the first world war and saw action all over East Africa with his brother in law to be, Dudley Walsh.
