Playne - Mr Blencowe, the Chief Officer of the Lake Steamer, was born at Northwich, Cheshire, on Feb. 14, 1881, and educated at Rossall and the school ship Conway. He arrived in EA on November 14, 1906, and his appointment dates from March 1, 1907. Mr Blencowe had four years' sailing and two years' naval training.
