Playne - F.L. Burmeister and J.G. Marten - The advantages of the Naivasha District for stock raising are fully appreciated by Messrs F.L. Burmeister and J.G. Marten, who came to BEA in 1908 from England, and bought their present farm of 3000 acres, on Lake Naivasha from Mr J.D. Hopcraft. The partners run the farm together. The land is volcanic, and bush and plains abound, whilst there is about 1 mile of lake frontage, and sufficient timber for building purposes. The house is to be built of sun-dried bricks with a ruberoid roof, and a well is being sunk on the property.
