Playne - Highlands Farm - Messrs Drake and Smith very wisely had a good look round before they finally settled down. They had both been in Cape Colony for a time with an idea of starting farming there, but eventually came to BEA, and took Highlands Farm in 1905.  .......... Messrs Drake and Smith imported a shorthorn bull, which died, and then bought another from Lord Delamere. .......... Sheep will be the aim, before all else. ........ Messrs Drake and Smith are of the opinion that the Molo District will be very suitable for horses, and it is their intention to try them shortly. There is any amount of water and timber on the estate, and all the homestead buildings have been built of logs, with bamboo partitions and thatched roofs. There is also post and rail fencing of 1.5 miles for ostriches. Highlands Farm is 9 miles from Molo Station, and runs to 10,000 acres.
