Police - Asst. Superintendent C.E.L. Bowen had been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the KAR and was killed in action at Nsendi on Dec. 1st 1914, when making a gallant attack against a German strong position on Susuni Hill. He was one of the first casualties in action suffered by the Police.
