North has 2 people called John Edward - one a Swahili interpreter, the other a cotton grower. They cannot be the same person because the interpreter died aged 33 at Mile 345 Macadara omn 23.8.1903 and is buried at Mbaraki. The other John Edward did not arrive (with his wife) till 28.7.1904.
