A.G.D. White - re H.A.D. White - "Some of the Europeans employed by 'The Major' frustrated him. There was the case of a former Light Horseman, 'Scraper' Broadley, who displeased 'The Major' greatly when on inspection of some fencing he found that Broadley had the posts at different heights. 'The Major' told him to adjust the holes but instead he went back with a saw and levelled them off at the top end. 'The Major' was furious. ….."
