Golf - In 1926 a grand golfer and sportsman, Mr E. Grant Hay, came to live in the area and he won the Plateau Championship in 1929. His sudden death in 1931 came as a great shock to all golfers in Kenya, as he had endeared himself to everybody.
Great golfer. Did a lot to get golf going in Eldoret. Winner of the Rift Valley Championship in 1930. Winner of the Trans-Nzoia Championship in 1931. Runner-up in the Ronald Marshall Golf Competition at Njoro in 1927.
