Thomas - on the north side of the memorial - To the Memory of Bertram Francis Percy Feilding, Lieutenant 1st Battalion the Wiltshire Regimant who in the action here against the Soudanese mutineers on October 19th 1897 gallantly exposed himself to great danger and peril. A keen soldier, and comrade he lived a soldier's life and died a soldier's death.
