Cuckoo - 1904/5 - met Foran in Nbi. he was down on his luck and Foran made him a present of the details of a gold reef he discovered in the Kisii region. He went to the spot, thought quite well of the reef, and later sold his claims to a German syndicate. Foran understood he did quite well out of the deal. I believe this was the first strike of gold in BEA, though it did not prove a success. The German syndicate soon abandoned it.
Cuckoo - A dear old S. African prospector. He died from blackwater fever in Nairobi a few months after selling his gold mining claims to a German syndicate.
