Debrett - was Vice-Consul for BEA 1891-5, Consul at Zanzibar 1895-1903, Consul-Gen there 1903-4, HBM's Agent and Consul-Gen. at Zanzibar and Consul-Gen. for German EA 1904-09, and Consul-Gen. for Algeria 1909-24; retired 1924; acted as Agent and Consul-Gen at Zanzibar 1896-7 (during which period occurred the bombardment of Zanzibar) and on many subsequent occasions; is a FRGS and a JP for Suffolk.
