Later Lady Cook was awarded the MBE. From 1914-17 he was in charge of Mengo Base Hospital. Over the years contributed many articles in the NMJ. President of the Uganda Branch of the British Medical Association, in 1928 he was awarded the Silver Medal of the Africa Society.
