General Information:

Eldoret - was a lovable and respected resident and one who helped turn a part of undeveloped Kenya into a Garden of Eden. He arrived in Kenya under the Soldier Settlement Scheme in 1920 and started farming at Moiben. Subsequently, in addition to his farming activities, he acquired Algeyo Saw Mills which he operated with considerable success. He was a man who could not possibly have had anything but friends in this world and endeared himself to all sections of the community. He passed on only recently [1967].
