Pioneers - Nakuru - Hyrax Hill - ….. Museum-on-the-spot established in 1965 with the help of Nakuru County Council and others, in the former home of Mrs Mary Selfe. Mrs Selfe, then a widow, worked untiringly to get Hyrax Hill scheduled as an Ancient Monument and placed under the Trustees of Kenya's National Parks. This was accomplished and Mrs Selfe gave her house to the nation in memory of her son Timothy, shot down over Germany while serving with the RAF in the Second World War.
