Bruce Rooken Smith He played rugby football for his school and college. After leaving Cambridge he served his housemanship at Guy's Hospital in London, where he also played rugby for the Hospital and for the ' Wasps' Club. In 1912 he joined the Colonial Service and was posted to Kenya Colony where he rose to become the Deputy Director of Medical Services and served in what was then, German East Africa. When peace was restored he returned to Kenya and founded the Kenya Rugby Football Union which proved to be a great success. He also became a keen competitor on the golf courses in East Africa and won many trophies. His last posting in the Colonial service was in 1933 as Director Medical Services in Nyasaland, later Malawi. He was awarded the OBE for his service to medicine in East Africa, and retired in 1938. He came out of retirement at the outbreak of the 1939/45 War and rejoined the RAMC. MC. Amongst other duties he became OC the Casualty Clearing Station in Nyeri, Kenya with the rank of full Colonel. After his divorce he married Dorothy Coleman: they retired to Likoni on the Kenya coast where he died.

William Cherry: 1928 He becomes the President of the Rugby Football Union (RFUK) of Kenya on 31 August 1928, a post which he held until 27 January 1933. 1928 President of the RFUK when the H.M.S.
