Golf - He tells of his unpopularity with the powers that were when he measured the holes by tape, and where there were dongas he followed these religiously with his tape - the distances were sometimes remarkably inaccurate from a golfer's point of view. He also saved money by advertisements on the first score cards, with such well known shops as the old "Dustpan". This again was not greeted with favour. His sister still treasured her original receipt No. 27 from the Kiambu Club for 5 Rupees, being her entrance fee as a sister of a Full Member. How nice if we could go back to those days!
