General Information:

Barnes - Early player for Muthaiga Rugby Club - 1938 and also Thika/Ruiru
Campling - a tall good-looking Norwegian who had learnt to fly in Norway at the age of 14. He took his pilot's licence when he turned 18 in 1928 and kept it valid for 60 years until 1988. He came to Kenya as a young man to engage in coffee farming at Kiambu, where he was extremely successful, and served with the RAF in the Far East during the second World War and as a part-time pilot with the Kenya Police Reserve during Kenya's Mau Mau Emergency.
Before WW2, whilst playing golf at Ruiru, he succeeded in killing a rabbit with a tee shot.
