Web Harpenden History 1914. There was a correction from the Official Gazette  of 21st Oct 1914, which was supposed to read that C.J.W. Lydekker was to be appointed Assistant District Commissioner for Tana District (The Official Gazette, 18th Nov 1914, p. 1146).
1917. C.J.W. Lydekker takes out a permit to possess 400 rounds of 12 bore shot gun cartridges in Lamu on 29th Aug 1917. He was the DC for Lamu at the time (The Official Gazette, 28th Nov 1917, p. 1179).
1918. He issued himself, as DC Lamu, a Gun Licence 22nd Oct 1917 valid for 14 days (The Official Gazette, 20th March 1918, p. 233).
1922. C.J.R [sic] Lydekker is Acting District Commissioner in Nyeri (Hutchinson 2006).
1924. The Colonial Secretary, J.E.S. Merrick appoints C.J.W. Lydekker a Magistrate Class II with the power to hold a Subordinate Court of the Second Class in Dagoretti District, whilst holding his present appointment as assistant District Commissioner, Dagoretti (The Official Gazette, 21st May 1924, p.490).
1926. He was further promoted to Resident Commissioner, Naivasha w.e.f. 15th April 1929 (The Official Gazette, 23rd April 1929, p. 640).
1926. The Acting Colonial Secretary J.E.S. Merrick appoints C.J.W. Lydekker a Magistrate Class II with the power to hold a Subordinate Court of the Second Class in Dagoretti District, whilst holding his present appointment as Assistant District Commissioner, Dagoretti (The Official Gazette, 15th Sept 1926, p.1036).
