Golf - Present at the first recorded committee meeting of Nairobi, later Royal Nairobi, Golf Club in 1908 ......... During the years 1910 to 1914 and 1920 to 1922 players from EA met yearly to play on the Course of the Nairobi Golf Club for the amateur Championship of EA. The winners had their names engraved on a shield presented by brother officers and friends in honour of the late Henry Fitzgerald Bell ..…..     
At one time he was Secretary of Nairobi Golf Club and Captain of Nairobi Cricket Club.

Gazette 15/7/1910 - Obituary - His Excellency deeply regrets to announce the death at St. Jean-de-Luz, Basses Pyrenees on the 3rd inst. of Mr H.F.G. Bell, 1st Assistant Secretary to the Administration. Mr Bell joined the Protectorate service in 1st July 1901 and was attached to the Secretariat throughout his career. He always showed great ability in his Official work and his place will be hard to fill. In social life and in the world of sport he was universally and deservedly popular and his loss will be mourned by a host of friends.
