Debrett - was in Ceylon Civil Ser. 1920-37, Financial Sec. Gold Coast 1937-39, and Ch. Sec. Kenya 1939-47, since when Gov. and Com.-in-Ch. of N. Rhodesia; European War 1915-19 as Capt. King's Own Scottish Borderers and 3rd Cyclist Brig. (MC); is a K.St.J.
Rhodesia - High Commissioner in London for the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, served from 1915 to 1919 in France with the King's Own Scottish Borderers. He was in the Ceylon Civil Service from 1920 to 1937, when he went to the Gold Coast as Financial Secretary. From 1939 to 1947 he was Chief Secretary in Kenya, and latterly also Member for Development and Reconstruction. He was Governor of Northern Rhodesia from 1948 to 1954.
