FTP - "A client writes that on a hot day in April 1950 the Bishop gave a long talk outside Kitale Police Station and Hotel - raving on about 'dagoes' etc. … with many Italians present he ended up having to put an apology in the local paper afterwards! My informant writes also that the Bishop was related to John Crampton, who ran Crompton's [sic] Inn outside Kitale - evidently a great eccentric and a very nice character altogether …"
