Letter from Mrs Hazel Macgregor - He was unmarried and lived a very bachelor existence on his land with very little in the way of 'civilised' comforts. I remember spending a holiday at his place when young - despite the vast numbers of cows on the place, not one was milked and we were given the powdered variety - in those days rather horrid. My mother put her foot down and insisted that fresh milk was served to her and her children. A 'toto' was detailed to bring in a couple of cows for this purpose but as they were all pretty wild and in any case not dairy animals it was pretty hopeless.
