With him he took as his first Bursar an old companion of the road to Uganda, Charles Phillips, whose sterling work as accountant and factotum of the Uganda Mission had impressed him 20 years before. Another of Fraser's original team, as chaplain of Achimota, was Cyril Stuart with his bride, Mary, whom Uganda was later to welcome as Bishop and Mrs Stuart.
