His father James Lillywhite, was captain of the first MCC team that went to Australia in 1877 - a disastrous tour. ....... W.G. Lillywhite lived for more than 40 years on the Coast, used to ride a motorcycle along the track between Mombasa and Kilifi; eventually cornered the cashew nut industry and gave a living to thousands of people between Mombasa and Malindi.
