Pioneers - Rumuruti - ….. A small hospital built in the 1920s was added to over the years, and was originally in the care of Lt.-Col. R.A. Cunningham, formerly of the RAMC. Until 1925 he travelled on foot and mule-back to attend his patients, sometimes being away on a difficult case for a week at a time.
