Uganda Journal - Vol. 2 No. 2 - Further Memories of Uganda by Sir Albert Cook - Entebbe, 1897 - it was my first visit there and I walked up the hill to the only 4 houses the place possessed. I roused up the owner of the first I came to which happened to be Mr G.D. Smith. He came out in his pyjamas and with his usual courtesy and hospitality set about preparing a meal as if midnight were a usual time for guests to arrive. A tin of Army rations was soon cooked and I thankfully sat down to a hot supper.
