DSO - Geoffrey Francis Claudet, Lieut. (Acting Capt.) Royal Field Artillery. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in taking over and commanding his battery under exceptionally difficult and trying conditions. Though his Battery Commander and two subalterns had been killed and the battery had suffered heavily, two guns being damaged, as well as many of his men, he succeeded in bringing the remaining guns into action very shortly after assuming command. By his gallant conduct and great devotion to duty he set a splendid example to his men.
