East Africa & Rhodesia - 15/11/56 - Sir Bernard Crean, who has died in Belfast at the age of 75, joined the Colonial Legal Service in 1920 and was appointed deputy recorder of titles in East Africa. He later became resident magistrate in Nairobi, and on several occasions acted as a judge of the Supreme Court of the Colony. He was Chief Justice in Cyprus at the time of his retirement in 1943.
