Golf - The Ruiru Sports Club was originally started as a Tennis Club on Maj. Goldsworthy's Farm just off the Bennetts Ridge Road in 1922. As the membership expanded and as there was no land available for a golf course on Maj. Goldsworthy's farm, it was decided to move to the present site. This move took place in 1923.

Carnegie - 'I went to prep school with the Goldsworthy brothers but can't remember much about them except that they were both good looking, good at games, hardworking and good at swotting and passing exams, popular and successful. I think Major G. grew coffee near Nyeri at about the same time as Sherbrooke Walker. Coffee slumped and I rather think he took to making dog-biscuits.'
