General Information:

Barnes - Kenneth Findlay arrived in Kiambu in 1913. He had four sons [no - his father] who all served in the First World War. The eldest lost his life in the Dardanelles and the other 3 all received the Military Cross. The three sons took over parts of the family estate (Waitangi Estate) after the death of their father and lived in Kiambu all of their lives.
Kiambu Scrapbook - The Findlays' first house on Waitangi was built to much the same pattern [as Philip Coldham's] only considerably smaller, in 1913, and Mr Kenneth Findlay, when he was sent a photograph of it before his arrival in Kenya, thought it was a bicycle shed. Apparently one of the family had left a bicycle on the verandah when the photograph was taken, but this does not wholly account for the mistake!
Pioneers - Kiambu - The Findlay family, so well-known in Kiambu, deserve a special mention. Mr Kenneth Findlay arrived at Waitangi in 1913. There were four sons, three of whom took over parts of the family estates after their father's death and lived in Kiambu all their lives. All the brothers served in the First World War; the eldest lost his life in the Dardanelles, while the other three were all awarded the Military Cross.
