EA & Rhodesia - 31/7/58 - Major Cecil Johnston, who has died in Kenya, settled in the Trans Nzoia in 1914, and a few months later joined the East African Mounted Rifles. Later he was commissioned in the Uganda battalion of the KAR, with which he served in "German East". During the slump of the 1930s he was commissioned in the regular Army, from which he retired at the end of the last war. Then he joined the Tanganyika Labour Department.
