Diary of Frank Hinds Bodleian Library Mss Afr.r.31 Visited Guay's mining camp beyond Takamega village. A good sized hut with three rooms. His claim is in a little valley along a small stream. A dam has been made and a series of washing boxes set up. The claim is not an impressive sight and dirty looking. No other claim in sight though there are 200 Europeans at work in neighbouring parts of the area. A post is put up at the corner of the claim with the name of the owner and position and date on it.
