EAS 20 June 1939 He died aged 47.  He came to Kenya in December 1913. For three years before, he had served with the Royal Garrison artillery. Served throughout the Great War with local units and was mentioned in dispatches. After the war he was employed by the PWD with which he remained until 1930, when he became an invalid and returned to England. Sometime later he came back to Kenya and obtained employment with the Express Transport Company with which he worked until the time of his death. He leaves a widow and a son and a daughter, all of whom are in England.
