Tom Lawrence He was a Lieut. in the Magadi Defence Force, and w.e.f. 10 Oct 1914, he was permitted to resign his commission in the MDF (The Official Gazette, 4 Nov 1914, p. 1125). 1936 - Leaves the post of Director of PWD. He was killed in a bombing raid on Bournemouth while having lunch at the Central Hotel, a a Civil Defence meeting. He was the Senior Regional Adviser to the Minitry of Home Security.
