Mark Boyce: Aged 14 he ran away and joined the Indian Army, served in Afghanistan and then served in East Africa during the Great War. Joined his brothers William "Bill" Griffith Williams and Daniel (Dan) Karwyn Williams in 1922.
1922 worked on Bill's farm, Soy near Big Tree Farm (later owned by the Dentons), not far from Elgon Club.
1923 farmed and had a small store near Hoey's Bridge.
1926 married, farmed and built a new house at Camnant Farm. Soy.
Moved to Glanusk Farm, Soy.
1930's severe locust plague wiped them out. Worked for the Barbertons at Kiboko.
Late 1930's gold mining at Kakamega near Kisumu.
1938-45 served with the East African Rifles back in Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia.
1946-1948 lived at The Bryn, Cherengani.
1948 bought Brynawel Farm Lugari. Knocked down the wattle and daub house and built the brick double bayed farm house. 1961 sold the farm to his son in law, Gerry Boyce, and returned to Ystradgynlais, Breconshire, Wales near his childhood parents' farm.
