East Africa and Rhodesia - 2/11/50 - Mr P.D. Finn, manager of the Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd., who is now on a two-months' tour of South, Central and East Africa, first went to Kenya at the end of 1929, and from 1939 until 1945 served in the RAF in East Africa (including the Ethiopian campaign), the Western Desert, Tripolitania, Tunisia, Malta, Sicily, Italy and the UK, being 4 times mentioned in despatches and awarded the OBE. On release from active service he returned to the Shell Company of East Africa Ltd. As assistant general manager, and became general manager in 1948. He was at one time president of the Kenya Rugby Referees' Association.
