EAS 27 June 1939 He died very suddenly in Nairobi. He had been engaged in mining in East Africa for a number of years but only came to Kenya in 1925. He had been employed by Gailey & Roberts for the last two or three years. He had pre-war Army service and was a physical instructor. Served with the Manchester Regiment and the Royal Flying Corps during the war. After the war he travelled in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa and then settled in Northern Rhodesia where he was engaged in the copper mines. He came up to East Africa and worked in Tanganyika in the Lupa gold fields and also at Lolgorien.
